Mr. Guild founded Guild Investment Management in 1971. He serves as the Chief Investment Officer and co-manages clients’ accounts with Anthony Danaher.
Prior to founding Guild, he was a securities analyst at Taurus Partners, LP and Security Pacific Bank. Over the years, he has become a widely recognized and quoted author, speaker, and commentator on international investing and economics in leading business and financial media. Since 2003, he has published Guild’s Market Commentary, a review of global market trends and conditions sent weekly to clients and subscribers.
Mr. Guild supervises the investment and research functions at Guild Investment Management. He graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a B.A. in economics, and received his M.B.A. in finance with highest honors from California State University, Long Beach.
Mr. Danaher joined the firm in 1990. He engages in research and portfolio management, co-managing clients’ accounts with Monty Guild. Mr. Danaher has also been interviewed by leading business and financial media. He earned his B.A. in business administration with a focus on accounting from Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, and received his M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
Mr. von Abele studied economics at the University of St Andrews and at the American University in Washington, DC. He holds a B.A. in liberal arts from Goddard College and a licentiate in theology from the Orthodox Church. He joined the firm in 2013, and conducts fundamental macro research and securities analysis. Prior to working for Guild Investment Management, Mr. von Abele most recently worked in global regulatory affairs for several pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms. Mr. von Abele co-authors and edits Guild’s Market Commentary.
Mr. Shirata graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2005 with a B.A. in Business Administration and a dual concentration in Marketing and Finance. Mr. Shirata is active in operations, client services, and marketing. Mr. Shirata is an active member of the Los Angeles Financial Planning Association, and has served on its board of directors.
Mr. Cohn graduated from Syracuse University in 2001, and in 2010 received his M.B.A in Finance from Pepperdine University with honors. He currently holds his Series 65 and is a CAIA level I candidate. Mr. Cohn is active in trade execution, portfolio administration, and research.
Barbara Reams joined Guild in 2006. Ms. Reams is an administrative professional and is available to assist with client inquiries, information changes, and administrative functions, and will see that concerns and issues are directed to the appropriate team member.
Bronwyn von Abele joined Guild in 2010. Ms. von Abele is an administrative professional and is available to assist with client inquiries, information changes, and administrative functions, and will see that concerns and issues are directed to the appropriate team member. Ms. von Abele holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts.
